The 5 Best Movies to Watch by Yourself.

girl watching late night movie

Let me set the scene.

It’s Friday night, and you just wrapped up one hell of a week at work. The weekly catch up with your best friends is scheduled for tomorrow and your boyfriend is out somewhere, rooting for whatever sporting event is on ESPN. As you’re kicking off your shoes, you realize something: You have the night to yourself.

You immediately change into your pajamas, order that pizza you’ve been daydreaming about all week (the ability to order pizza online is both a blessing and a curse), apply our Cucumber Breeze sheet mask and dive onto the couch.

But wait. The only question remaining is what movies are you going to watch?

Say no more. We’ve put together a list of films that makes for a pretty cozy night in. Let’s begin, shall we?

1. 13 Going on 30 (2004)

How can you not love a classic time-traveling movie? A child of the 80’s gets hit with ‘wishing dust’ and bam! Her life leaps forward seventeen years and she’s living the dream. It’s immensely predictable but if there’s going to be a big “Thriller” dance showstopper in the movie, you can count me in.

2. Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961)

Breakfast at tiffany's

This movie is a classic. There is no way we are going to make a movie guide without the fabulous Audrey Hepburn and the iconic role she played in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. A complicated love life, a cat named Cat, and a penchant for high-fashion and wild parties? It’s as ditzy and delightful as ever!

3. We Bought a Zoo (2011)

I’m not sure if the movie title gave it away or not, but this movie is about a family buying a zoo. You have an all star cast, an incredible story and a very alluring soundtrack. We Bought a Zoo will take you on a grand cinematic adventure and by the end of it, you’ll be aching for more. The fact that this movie was based on a true story makes it that much better too.

4. Midnight in Paris (2011)

Midnight in Paris

Woody Allen has a lot of great comedies but none of them are as sweet and affecting as Midnight In Paris. There is nothing to dislike about this movie. It’s basically 100 minutes of complete daydream. Gil, the main character, gets to time travel back to Paris in the 1920s and meets all of his favorite American writers. I was never a huge fan of Woody Allen’s work, but this movie is an absolute treasure.

5. The Blind Side (2009)

Blind Side

A sports movie? “But why?”, you may ask. Because Sandra Bullock is incredible, that’s why! The Blind Side is based off a true story of Tennessee Titans offensive tackle Michael Oher. I don’t want to spoil too much of the movie for you, but if you give it a chance, the payoff is tremendous.
